My approach to woodturning and fruit bowl carving

is to use interesting selections of Australian burrs, Natural edge woods, highly detailed grains or spalting to produce finely finished turned or carved items.

My woodturning and bowl carving produces one-off pieces, firstly being Australian burrs like brown Coolabah burrs and red Mallee burrs carved or turned in to large fruit bowls some quite large, the largest carved fruit bowl to date being the brown Coolabah bowl 80x40 cm

I am now at the woodturning stage where I can introduce natural wooden fruit to compliment the fruit bowls these will be listed within the store. Where it is possible to use natural woods for the apples,grapes,Victoria plums pears and tangerines there will also be available other detailed grained and spalting woods for these items.

The wood I tend to use for my fruit turning is of African,Indian, and Brazilian nature, Anjan being a rich dark wood ideal for turning grapes and Victoria plums Purple Heart is also used for those types of fruit as for lemons Pau Amarillo is used no other substitute will do when turning lemons.

Each pen, pencil, comes off the lathe with its own authentic personality - no automated duplicator or mass design affects its creation of these pens, each and every turned pen is unique to the next.
